District 13 bus routes

District 13 bus routes

The main goal of our pupil transportation operation is to provide safe and efficient transportation each and every school day for all students of Region 13. As we begin the new school year, it is important that we remind everyone of our concern for school bus safety. The District's responsibility begins when students get on the bus, and although we make every effort to ensure the well-being of all students, we ask parents to please emphasize the importance of school bus safety to their child.  Accordingly, the following information is provided to help families better understand the District's bus transportation policies.

Points to remember:
  • Safety is our foremost concern.
  • Bus route numbers and timing will be different this year.
  • Buses tiers remain the same for 24-25;  CRHS and Strong 1st tier, Memorial 2nd tier and Elementary 3rd tier.
  • School start times remain unchanged for 24-25.
  • View posted bus routes via the parent portal or on Dattco's Check My Child's Bus Route page on or after August 15th.
  • Check the route again the day before school starts to be sure your pick-up/drop-off times haven’t changed significantly.
  • All bus stop changes must be submitted prior to August 19th or after September 6th.  Only route corrections will be processed during this time.
  • Bus stop changes will not be processed the week before school or the first week of school.
  • Please allow 24-48 hours for bus stop changes to be processed.
  • Please contact your child’s school directly with any issues or concerns.

Our bus drivers have full responsibility and authority on the bus.  District 13 uses video surveillance on all of our buses.  Expected student conduct includes:
  • Staying seated when the bus is moving and having quiet conversations.
  • Keeping arms, hands and all articles inside the bus.
  • Boarding and departing the bus in an orderly manner.
  • Demonstrating courtesy to the driver and fellow passengers.
  • Refraining from eating on the bus.

Please be aware that violations of good conduct can result in the denial of bus transportation. Bus drivers are instructed to report all incidents of unacceptable conduct to the school principal and procedures are in place to investigate drivers' reports.

New this year, RSD 13 and Dattco has provided parent portal to view your student's 2024-2025 bus routes. You can use the parent portal via the web location or download the My Ride K-12 app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

The first step is to create an account in the transportation portal at this location:
https://ctdattcorsd13.myridek12.tylerapp.com/.  You will then need to verify the email you enter.

Once registered, you will need to search for "Regional School District 13 CT" and select as shown here:
Example screenshot of bus route school search bar.

Please have your student's school ID number and date of birth ready in order to assign your student to your account.   You can assign multiple students at this time. You will need to only create one account and assign your students once.  Once your student is assigned, click on the details icon to view your routes and times.  Please note: The bus location feature is not yet active, we will notify parents at such time it becomes available.

If you prefer not to use the parent portal, bus routes can still be located on Dattco's website at:  https://www.dattcoschoolbus.com/my-childs-route/?did=9 as in the past.

If you are having difficulties finding your student on the parent portal, please call the Durham Dattco depot at 860-349-8479 ext 1.

Please enjoy the remainder of the summer and we look forward to helping you have a smooth start to the new school year.
